AOFAS Kicks Off the New Year with a New Website

by AOFAS | Jan 15, 2019

The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society debuts a redesigned and restructured website

Rosemont, Ill. (January 15, 2019) – The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society® (AOFAS), the leading organization for lower extremity medicine and foot and ankle surgery, announces the launch of a new and improved website. The new website features a responsive design, fresh look, and user-friendly navigation to better serve AOFAS members, partners, and the public.

"Our new website offers a wealth of information in an easy-to-use format," said J. Chris Coetzee, MD, president of the AOFAS Board of Directors. "We are confident it will be a valuable resource for both surgeons and patients."

The new aofas.org is fully responsive, allowing both desktop and mobile users to navigate seamlessly throughout the site. The site structure offers quick access to important information such as the "Find a Surgeon" search tool that directs users to locate a foot and ankle orthopaedic surgeon in their area.

The website redesign is just one element of a strategic plan to update and clarify the Society’s long-term goals and direction.

In 2017, AOFAS began a rebranding initiative that resulted in the development of a new logo that emphasizes the Society's name and acronym in a clear, concise, and contemporary manner. The Society also formed a tagline that reflects the strengths of its members: Dynamic. Decisive. Dedicated.

"The healthcare landscape is changing and becoming more competitive," Dr. Coetzee added. "It's important that the public know who we are, what we do, and the importance of foot and ankle health for their overall well-being."

In addition to redesigning the main website, the Society plans to redesign and relaunch the AOFAS patient education site, FootCareMD.org, later this year. FootCareMD is an educational resource created by foot and ankle orthopaedic surgeons with trusted, comprehensive information on foot and ankle conditions and treatment options.
