Founded in 2001, the Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that advances the AOFAS mission by funding and promoting essential education, research, social impact, and humanitarian endeavors. With the help of generous donations from individuals and industry partners, the Foundation has grown into a thriving organization that provides resources to improve patient care and ensure the specialty's future success.

What We've Done

  • Contributed more than $2 million since 2001 to building the future of foot and ankle care through the Research Grants Program. Research grant recipients have used Foundation seed money to receive additional funding from the National Institutes of Health and other sources, publish articles, and present at professional meetings.

  • Developed the Fellowship Scholarship, Resident ScholarshipTraveling FellowshipWomen's Leadership, and other programs that enhance orthopaedic education, foster professional collaboration, and encourage early interest in the specialty.

  • Delivered humanitarian care to more than 3,500 patients in underserved areas of Vietnam, Kenya, and other countries through Overseas Outreach.
