Any AOFAS member may nominate an individual at any time of year to be honored as a Pillar of the Society. To nominate, submit a letter of support outlining why the individual should be considered to foundation@aofas.org.

Pillars will be announced in the spring of 2024.
Eligibility
Pillars of the Society are selected based on an exemplary career and contributions to the AOFAS in one or more of the following categories:
Education
Research
Leadership
Philanthropy
Nominations will be considered by the Foundation and AOFAS Boards of Directors to select individuals annually. Champions for the Fund may be selected to honor the Pillar by fundraising for contributions toward any of the designated funds of the Foundation but there is no fundraising requirement.
Recognition
Once a Pillar has been confirmed by the AOFAS Board, he or she will be invited to the next Annual Meeting to be recognized during an award ceremony and provided the opportunity to speak following receipt of the honor. That year, the Pillar receives complimentary registration for the Annual Meeting and social events, and will be invited to Foundation social events at all future Meetings. Pillars will be recognized in perpetuity on the AOFAS website and at a display at Annual Meetings.
Donors will be listed on all donor rolls in print publications and on the AOFAS website, and invited to Foundation donor receptions.
