Atlanta Orthopaedic Surgeon to Serve Leading Foot and Ankle Society

Erroll Bailey, MD

Rosemont, Ill. (October 4, 2023) – Foot and ankle orthopaedic surgeon Erroll J. Bailey, MD, has joined the Board of Directors of the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS), the leading organization for lower extremity medicine and foot and ankle surgery, as a member-at-large.

“AOFAS has always served admirably as a platform to unite and educate foot and ankle orthopaedic surgeons throughout the world,” Dr. Bailey said. “It is now with great pleasure that I can help shape that platform and share my vision on education as well as equity and inclusion, something dear to my heart.”

Dr. Bailey is currently a foot and ankle orthopaedic surgeon at Resurgens Orthopaedics in Atlanta, Georgia, and he is a member of the Medical Association of Atlanta. Previously, he served as an assistant professor of orthopedics at Emory University's Department of Orthopedics in Atlanta, and he was the 2020 recipient of the Arthritis Foundation's Hugh McLeod, III M.D. Award of Excellence.

After earning a medical degree from Harvard Medical School, Dr. Bailey completed his residency at the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program and his orthopaedic foot and ankle fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery/St. Luke’s Roosevelt in New York, New York.

Prior to joining the AOFAS Board of Directors, Dr. Bailey served as chairman of the AOFAS Advanced Foot & Ankle Virtual Course 2023 and co-chairman of the 2022 course; moderator of the Minimally Invasive Foot Surgery Symposium at AOFAS Annual Meeting 2022; reviewer for the Foot & Ankle International and Foot & Ankle Orthopaedics journals; and Pre-Meeting Course speaker at AOFAS Annual Meeting 2023.

“It is indeed an honor to be nominated for the AOFAS Board of Directors and I aim to serve in the fullest,” Dr. Bailey said.
