Twin Cities Orthopaedic Surgeon to Serve Leading Foot and Ankle Society
Rosemont, Ill. (August 1, 2018) – Foot and ankle orthopaedic surgeon Bryan D. Den Hartog, MD, has been named treasurer of American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society® (AOFAS), the leading organization for lower extremity medicine and foot and ankle surgery. In addition to serving as treasurer, Dr. Den Hartog will serve on the Board of Directors of the Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Foundation, the philanthropic arm of AOFAS.
As treasurer of the 2,200-member Society, Dr. Den Hartog’s focus is ensuring the Society’s financial stability to provide future foot and ankle orthopaedic surgeons access to the top resources in the specialty. “I would like to give back and serve the Society that has provided me with professional opportunities and lasting relationships that equipped me with the tools needed to provide a higher level of care for my patients,” Dr. Den Hartog said.
Dr. Den Hartog earned his medical degree at the University of Iowa and completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He completed a successful fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin. His current work is through Twin Cities Orthopedics in Minnesota.
Prior to his role as AOFAS treasurer, Dr. Den Hartog served as president of the Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Foundation from 2015-2018. He has authored more than 25 peer-reviewed scientific papers and is a reviewer of the AOFAS peer-reviewed journal Foot & Ankle International (FAI). He has several patents for design and development of orthopaedic implants that are used around the world.
