IFFAS 2005 was held September 15-18, 2005, in Naples, Italy. The scientific program featured morning symposia, followed by afternoon lectures and presentations of scientific papers.

Stretched along the Bay of Naples at the foot of Mount Vesuvius, the city of Naples provided a scenic background for the meeting. This enchanting Italian city has a rich history and has been a major seaport since its founding in 500 BC.

The congress was held at the Royal Continental Hotel and was attended by more than 650 registrants. Visitors enjoyed a full scientific meeting, wonderful hospitality, and warm weather in Naples, and in their spare time they enjoyed visiting this historic center of medieval and renaissance architecture.
