Rebecca A. Cerrato, MD, Joins AOFAS® Board of Directors

Baltimore Orthopaedic Surgeon to Serve Leading Foot and Ankle Society

Rosemont, Ill. (October 15, 2021) - Foot and ankle orthopaedic surgeon Rebecca A. Cerrato, MD, has joined the Board of Directors of the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society® (AOFAS), the leading organization for lower extremity medicine and foot and ankle surgery, as a member-at-large. Rebecca A. Cerrato, MD

“I am grateful and excited to begin this new chapter serving AOFAS through my position on the Board of Directors,” said Dr. Cerrato. “I hope to inspire other members to volunteer their talents to advancing our Society.”

Dr. Cerrato earned her medical degree at The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and went on to complete orthopaedic surgery residency training at the University of Chicago and Georgetown University in Washington, DC  She completed a fellowship in foot and ankle reconstruction at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, where she now serves as director of the fellowship program.

Dr. Cerrato has been actively involved in the Society having previously served as chair of the Membership Committee from 2015-2017 and a member of the Young Physicians Committee from 2014-2015. In addition to her Board of Directors position, Dr. Cerrato is the current chair of the Committees Advisory Group and a member of the Fellowship Committee. Dr. Cerrato is dedicated to supporting women in foot and ankle orthopaedic surgery and was the Founding Co-chair of the AOFAS Women’s Leadership Initiative.
