7:30 – 8:00 am
Welcome and Introduction of Faculty

Residents will be placed in groups of 3 and stay in their assigned group throughout the day. The groups will all complete the same procedure at their stations, at the same time, while faculty rotate through the stations.

8:00 – 9:30 am

Ankle Arthroscopy: Loose Body/Osteochondral Lesion Microfracture/Arthrodesis Prep

In this lab, you will learn to:

  • Establish arthroscopic portals
  • Perform a diagnostic ankle arthroscopy
  • Perform microfracture
  • Perform a loose body removal
  • Prepare a joint for arthrodesis arthroscopically
  • Practice basic triangulation on Sawbones low fidelity models

9:30 – 10:00 am


10:00 – 11:30 am

Lateral Ligament Reconstruction: Modified Broström

In this lab, you will learn:

  • Lateral ankle anatomy
  • Lateral approach to the ankle
  • Soft-tissue preparation
  • Methods of anatomic reconstruction: Layered Repair and Suture-Tape Augmentation

11:30 am – 12:30 pm

Lunch (provided)

12:30 – 2:00 pm

Achilles Tendon Repair: MIS/Open Reconstruction

In this lab, you will learn to:

  • Perform a posterior longitudinal approach
  • Perform mini open technique
  • Identify Achilles tendon anatomic characteristics
  • Perform a V-Y lengthening repair
  • Perform an FHL harvest
