Beat Hintermann, MD, is the Founder and Chair of the Center of Excellence for Foot and Ankle. Previously, he served as Chairman of the Clinic for Orthopaedics and Traumatology at Kantonsspital Baselland (Switzerland) for more than 15 years. During his tenure, new and innovative techniques and procedures have been introduced such as ankle arthroscopy, correcting osteotomies and arthrodeses of the hindfoot complex, and total ankle replacement. Dr. Hintermann was the main conceptor of the H3 ankle (Hintermann Series, former Hintegra), which was approved by the US Food & Drug Administration in 2019. He also developed the H2 ankle with Roxa Ruiz, MD.
