The International Federation of Foot & Ankle Societies is organized on a regional basis and consists of four regional organizations:
Asian Federation of Foot and Ankle Surgeons
European Foot and Ankle Society
Latin American Federation of Medicine and Surgery of the Foot and Leg
American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society
Excluding any social, political, religious or racial segregation, the organization aims to:
> Initiate, promote and develop international scientific relations between students of the foot.
> Develop and spread knowledge about all aspects of anatomy, physiology and pathology of the foot.
> Represent this branch of the medical science and profession on an international scale.
The IFFAS is governed by a council of representatives of the four federations.
The IFFAS Secretariat is located in Rosemont, Illinois USA.
